Traction Ag Announces Partnership with CropZilla to Optimize Farm Fleet Management

Joint venture will enhance data-driven equipment decisions with cloud-based farm accounting software

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Dec. 15, 2022 — Traction Ag Inc., the first cloud-based accounting software delivering solutions to growers across the Midwest, today announced a partnership with CropZilla, a data-driven machinery management software. By combining the platforms, users will get a streamlined accounting process for optimizing their equipment fleet and gain a better understanding of their equipment productivity, costs and replacement needs.

“CropZilla and Traction Ag are natural partners as both enable growers to manage their farms efficiently and clearly understand their profitability,” said Ian Harley, CEO and co-founder of Traction Ag. “In the future, we look forward to providing even more value to growers by integrating the platforms as a further deliverable of our technology.”

Founded in 2015, CropZilla was created to address the lack of analytical tools and data capture surrounding equipment — one of the most capital-intensive aspects of farming. The CropZilla software allows farmers to measure equipment performance stats, manage costs, track seasonal productivity and optimize fleet decisions.

The CropZilla and Traction Ag partnership meets the need for streamlined processes and data-driven technology in farming, especially as the farming demographic shifts to include younger, digital natives. Thanks to this newly announced partnership, growers can access critical data needed to lay the groundwork for their farm’s future and make strategic decisions about fleet management.

“At its core, CropZilla has been a product-oriented business focused on giving farmers a user-friendly experience,” said Brian Watkins, CEO of Cropzilla. “With the support of Traction Ag, we’re able to both expand our presence and ensure our growers receive the most accurate performance data. As a midwestern crop farmer myself, Traction Ag was the obvious partner of choice as they have proven to deliver real value to growers through their technology.”

The CropZilla partnership comes at a time of continued growth for Traction Ag, following their acquisition of Granular Business just last month. The Midwest-based company also announced a recent funding round in September.

Watkins added, “Traction’s acquisition of Granular Business and investment in upgrading the existing platform continues to indicate their commitment to farm management excellence for all farms, regardless of their size, crop mix or complexity. We’re excited to partner alongside them.”
