This is a significant update! As farms continue to diversify, it is crucial to provide support for all crop types. This month, we are excited to announce the expansion of our crop list and the enhanced customization options for each crop.
Now, you’ll have unprecedented control over your field records, crop filtering, and reporting capabilities.
BASIC ACCOUNTING & Operations
Expanded Crop List and Details
- Choose from a list of 100+ pre-defined crop types to match your unique operation.
- Customize Harvest Products with names like popcorn, non-GMO corn, organic corn, and more.
- Target Moisture and Shrink values are set for each crop, with the flexibility to modify as needed.
- Adjust Harvest Units according to your preferences for each specific crop.
- Streamline profit center analysis with the ability to input Price Estimates for multiple years.
- Ensure accurate financial insights by assigning preferred Accounts to each Harvest Product, optimizing General Ledger reports.
ADDITIONAL UPDATES
Deleting Crops
- Harvest Products you no longer use can be deleted or inactivated.
Fallow Support
- Support for Fallow is a new addition to the Traction crop list. Designate fields as ‘Fallow’ for precise record keeping and accounting allocations.

Brian Stark
Brian Stark is the Product Marketing Director for Traction Ag, based in Auburn, Indiana. Prior to co-founding the company in 2020, he led the sales and marketing efforts at Farm Works Software for 14 years and was part of Trimble’s marketing and communications team for 10 years. He completed his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in Agribusiness. Brian and his wife, Kimberly, own a Centennial Farm in Edgerton, Ohio, and have three children.
